New feature

Hello Skritter team and users.I use the skritter for a few years and really like it.One thing constantly bothers me that the huge daily due number because of many words I have added until today. Many people use advice banning writing for words and keeping just for characters. However,I still think that it is good for active recall. If,however, there would be a feature inside skritter which allows asking definition from English to Mandarin, this would solve the problem and would bring efficiency and reduce time when studying. Will you bring this feature?
Thanks,
Jahandar

Hi Jahandar,

Thanks for reaching out! We appreciate you taking the time to send us this feedback. I have added it to our list of requests and will share it with our developers. We are currently working on some major Skritter 4.0 updates, and it is likely that we will had this feature in these updates. However, we are currently in the planning stages so we do not currently have a release date.

Concerning the influx of Due Cards, have you recently studied a large number of new cards? If so, this could be the reason for the sudden influx of cards. The “Due Cards” is based on our SRS system, so there is no way to control how many new words are added. You can read more about our particular SRS system and why we chose it here: Spaced Repetition System (SRS).

If you want to lower your queue, we recommend learning a smaller number of new words per day. This will help the due count to slowly drop. If you don’t have the time to clear your queue or bring the number down, I suggest setting a daily goal and focusing on that instead. You can set your daily goals (cards studied and words learned) in the top right-hand corner of the app.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback! Let me know if you have any questions. Happy studies!
